Christina Aguilera has won five Grammy awards and sold over 37 million records worldwide, but she’s a mom now, too. The pop songstress and husband Jordan Bratman welcomed Max Liron into their family on January 12.
In their Mediterranean-style home in L.A., they decorated Max’s nursery with an eclectic mix of Paddington Bears, Nintendo characters, and an 11-foot moon that had been onstage during Aguilera’s Back to Basics tour. Christina says putting it in the room was Jordan’s idea.

I ran across this little girl’s room featured in Southern Living and thought the way that they mixed the florals and pinks with the animal prints and antiques was unusual. In other words, it’s perfect for our favorite game — Hooked or Hate It?
Take a good look. What do you think? Are you hooked or do you hate it? Or something in between? I added a middle-of-the-road option by popular request.

Remember, there are no right or wrong answers here. It’s just a fun way to look at rooms that take some decorating risks and consider whether you think they worked or not. Don’t forget to leave a comment telling us why you voted the way you did!
If You’re Hooked on Playing Hooked or Hate It:

Hooked on Houses reader DaK sent me these photos of textured ceilings that are in swirly, spiral and sunburst patterns. It was one of the most unusual ceiling treatments I’ve ever seen, so I just had to show you.
And, of course, I have to know what you think. First look. Then discuss.

Here’s a little something to kick off this week’s Fantasy Open House series. So many of you played along last time when we toured homes for sale in Hyde Park, Ohio that I thought we’d do it again. For the next Open House series I’m showing you some amazing properties on the market in Birmingham, Alabama.
This ornate powder room belongs to one of them–a multimillion-dollar home built to look like a French Chateau. Since it’s not your run-of-the-mill half bath, I thought it would be a good candidate for our new game, Hooked or Hate It?
Take a good look. Now tell us what you think. Are you hooked on this look or do you hate it? Or something in between? I added a middle-of-the-road option this time around, per popular request.
THE POLL IS NOW CLOSED. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FINAL RESULTS.
Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. It’s just a chance to spout your personal opinion and think about whether different styles appeal to you or not. Don’t forget to leave a comment letting us know why you voted the way you did. As you know, reading everyone’s comments is half the fun.

If You’re Hooked on Playing Hooked or Hate It:

On the HGTV show Kitchen Trends they featured this newly remodeled kitchen in a segment called “Pretty in Pink.” I thought it would be perfect to kick off a new feature here at Hooked on Houses that we’ll call (drumroll) Hooked or Hate It?
In this game, we’ll look at rooms and vote that we’re either 1) Hooked or 2) Hate It! Easy enough, right? I think this pink kitchen is one that could go either way. You’d either really love it, or really not.
